Apple must have thought the same as they have dramatically reduced their iPods and iMac's packaging, product mass, sleep energy consumption and most dramatically lead consumption. Apple reduced packaging for many software titles by more than 50% in 2006 which reduced hundreds of thousands of pounds of packaging waste.
Apples products are now also made out of highly recyclable materials such as aluminum and glass. I consider Apple to be a great innovative company and their environmental responsibilities are also inspirational with great designers and idea's their products have the ability to offer excellent environmental performance throughout their life cycle.
