In all of the U.K London has the best quality tap water and often out performs on taste tests beating alternative bottled water. So if your living in London why pay for your water when you have even better h2o with the turn of a tap for free.
Thames water & the Mayor of London have launched a design competition to create an 'iconic carafe' which would be used to serve tap water in restaurants, bars and hotels through out the city. It will help to rid the stigma of asking for tap water when dining out, hopefully changing perceptions, attitudes and the image of tap water.
It is kinder to the environment to drink tap water instead of bottled and a lot less cheaper in terms of production. So hopefully the campaign will also appeal to green customers.
Ten candidates have made the short list for the carafe design. The popular designs chosen have taken water for their initial inspiration.
The first image takes inspiration from a water pipe. Second, the visual of running water. Third a brass water tap.
