I visited the Tate Britain a couple of years ago and was in awe of the JMW Turner collection of oil paintings. The colours were gorgeous. His paintings captured the effects of sunlight on nature and landscapes. The majority of his works are impressionist like and it has been suggested that Turner was responsible for the later movement.
