Resourceful Art and Design.

Across Africa citizens have long been creating products from recourses that we here in the west would discard as rubbish. There creativity and craftsmanship shows that you really can make something out of nothing with a little imagination. As well as making products that help their daily lives, products are also emerging from Africa which are being exhibited across the world that are innovative quirky and full of character. A few examples are shown above. Picture frames that can furnish homes made from glass, suitcases made from tuna cans and lined with comic book pages and toy chickens made from plastic bags! Even though the artists have made these products out of waste they are certainly not rubbish! Their colouring is bright and I'm sure if you had one of these products then it would definitely be a conversation starter with it's unique origins and you would also be doing your bit for saving the planet!
